The power of your passion.

Finishing the first phase of the new German winery in 2017, the priority in the beginning was to focus on fermenting the red grapes delivered from carefully selected, high-quality, hand-picked grapes from the Karabunar vineyard, Bulgaria.

However, from the early Bulgarian experience of developing dilapidated vineyards in Bulgaria, led Michael Zehe in 2019 to begin utilising his knowledge gained in viticulture into developing small parcels of vineyards with excellent terroir around, his hometown of Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Rheinhessen, Germany.

The hallmark year, 2020, was when he had the good fortune to buy several Frauenberg vineyards, made famous by the VDP-highest classification”Großes Gewächs”.

At the same time, in May 2020 concluded the building of our new underground cellar purpose built for small batch, white wine production, both in oak barrels and small size stainless steel vessels.

In 2024 we started converting into organic production across our entire vineyard sites and is central to our philosophy of future sustainability.

To reflect and honour his home-town’s winemaking history, Michael established Weingut Zehe dedicated to modern, expressive and terroir-driven wines.
